So, our computer got hit with some awful virus a few weeks ago, and we have finally gotten it back from the tech doctor. While it is functioning, there are definitely some bad programs still rattling around inside of it, which have given it something of a mind of it's own. Somewhat begrudgingly, we have started to shop around for a new one. We were initially interested in a Mac, but after the sticker shock we moved right back into the PC world. In the meantime, I will try to keep this "old" computer in line and get back to the wonderful world of mosherboys blogging.
The biggest news during our absence was undoubtedly Patch's arrival at the ripe old age of 4. While I am usually met with disbelief at my children's birthdays, I had the opposite reaction to this one. It has seemed like Patchie has been 3 forever. I know you parents of other three year olds out there will know exactly what I am talking about. Please don't get me wrong- I love that brown haired boy of mine to absolute pieces, but man, can he be a handful! And 3 is just a tough age in general. This year of three has been especially eventful one for my boy. He became a big brother, potty trained, stopped taking naps, started preschool, and fell in love with a number of action movie stars, most of them played by Harrison Ford. He is sweet and funny, stubborn and goofy, dramatic and shy. I'm so glad he is 4!!
We had Star Wars themed birthday party for him, which turned out to be a lot of fun. We invited a handful of kids from preschool and his other few friends, which ended up being quite a crowd of little ones.
Here is the birthday boy, in front of Sam's hand drawn Luke Skywalker, for the Pin the Lightsaber on the Jedi game we played.
All the individualized lightsabers Jeff and Sam made for the game.
Jeff and I constructed these lightsabers for Patch's friends out of swimming "noodles" and duct tape. They were a huge hit. We had some big silver balloons (thanks to Grandpa's lung power!) that the kids tried to balance on the sabers across our back deck.
Patch, with Sam and our good friend Roanin, pre-party.
Grandpa, doing some decorating.
Present opening mayhem.
Yum!
And a good time was had by all!
