Sam and Patch are doing some artwork, while I start on making dinner. Sam asks, "Can I use the glue gun?" "No," I say, "Not right now". "Awwhhh!!!" says Sam. Then I hear him telling Patch that no, they can't paint. "Wait," I say, "What did you ask me?" Sam replies, "If we could do some painting." To which I say, "Oh, I'm sorry, Sam. You can totally do some painting. I thought you asked me if you could use the glue gun." Sam, smiling, says, "Oh, mom, you totally misunderheard me."
